Shelby Christian and Missionary Alliance Church aligns itself with the The Christian and Missionary Alliance Organization while operating independently within that organization.

As a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, we are part of a worldwide evangelical denomination with more than 17,500 churches and church groups in sixty-seven nations.

Since 1887, our mission in the Christian and Missionary Alliance has been to reach unreached and responsive people groups for Christ.

The mission statement of the Christian and Missionary Alliance is to know Jesus Christ, exalt Him as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King, and to complete His Great Commission.

What do we believe about salvation?

Salvation is available to all through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. One must come to Jesus believing they are a sinner, confess that sin to Him asking for His forgiveness, turning from sin and asking Him to come dwell in their hearts. We base this on the following passages of the Bible:

Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:8 But God commended his love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10: 9 & 10 That if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Ephesians 2: 8 & 9 For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.
I John 5:13 I write these things to you that believe in the name of the son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
What do we believe about church membership?

Church membership is not necessary for salvation.
The purpose of church membership is to align yourself with a body of believers.

What do we believe about baptism?
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change or conversion. It is not necessary for salvation but rather a public testimony of salvation.
What do we believe about the Bible?
Shelby Alliance believes the Bible is the inerrant Word of God given to us to know what God wants us to know. It is the primary means of communication of God to us. We believe it to be God's Word in its entirety.
