Where do we send the items when they are ready?

Do we need to send money with boxes shipped to Shelby?
Shipping costs are expensive, approximately $8/cubic foot. We are beginning to ask that you include a check for that amount. Please make the check out to: Shelby Alliance Women.
How much does it cost to send a container?
The cost of shipping a container varies with each one. The least amount was about $11,600 and the most expensive was about $15,300.
How do you pay for the containers?
Most of the funds for shipping the containers comes from The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Colorado Springs. Funds sent to Shelby Alliance Church are used to help defray those costs. Shelby Alliance Women absorbs all costs for getting the containers ready to ship.
Do the baby blankets have to be flannel?
The baby blankets can be flannel, quilted, crocheted, knitted, hand-made or store-bought. We have found that the best sizes range from 30” x 30” to 45” x 45”.
Do we have to send a complete Mama Pack?
No,many choose to knit booties or hats or they like to find onesies at garage sales. Some groups will send a case of gallon-sized zip-bags. We have a group of dedicated ladies who love to sit and put the mama packs together.
Can we come and help pack or watch you pack a container?
We have “Mali Work Days” about once a month and we would love to have you come and help on those days. Those are the days that we sort and pack the medical equipment that comes to us, make Mama Packs, put gift bags together and socialize. It is a great opportunity to see what we do. If that is something that you would be interested in doing, please call us.
