If you are a mother of young children 'creativity' is probably your greatest need. Being creative helps pass those long snow days inside, get you through long car rides and encourage the eating of less than favorite foods.
I remember making a dessert with flaming sugar cubes on it for my kids. I think everyone would be worried about a fire hazard these days but my kids loved it. We kept relighting them for fun.
Another time we were taking a long trip to Grandma's house, 6 hours away and I really didn't want to hear, "Are we there yet?" So, I gave each child a roll of nickels and told them they had to give me one every time they fought with the sibling, asked about the trip, or whined (about anything!).
At the end of the trip, they received a quarter to spend for each nickel they had left. The trip was peaceful and they had money to spend while at Grandma's.
