A conversation to have together
This is not a test, and there is no passing score. Invite your child to answer in their own words. Listen without coaching them toward a particular answer. There is no pressure to be ready for a particular date.
Baptism shows a person’s faith in Jesus; it does not earn salvation. Readiness is about your child’s own trust in Jesus and understanding of baptism, not reaching an age cutoff.
1. Who is Jesus, and why did he die and rise again?
2. What does it mean to trust and follow him?
3. What does baptism show?
4. Why do you want to be baptized?
5. Is this your own choice?
6. What questions or worries do you have?
Your next step
We’d love to talk with your family. You do not need polished answers before reaching out. Use our baptism signup form and choose “My child” so we can listen, answer questions, and discuss next steps together. Keep your child’s answers for your family conversation; you do not need to submit them online.
